Welcome to Eat Halal. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Eat Halalmobile application (the "App") and this website (together, the "Service") operated by Eat Halal("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, please do not use the Service.
1.The Service
Eat Halal is an AI-powered application that helps Muslim users verify whether food products and restaurant menu items are halal. Features include:
- Photo scanning of ingredient labels
- Barcode scanning for product identification
- Restaurant menu analysis
- Text-based ingredient analysis
- AI-generated personalized meal plans
- Shopping list management
- Meal reminders
- Scan history
Important: Eat Halal provides guidance, not religious rulings. Our AI analysis is a decision-support tool. For matters of significant religious importance, always verify with trusted halal certifications and qualified scholars.
2.Eligibility
To use Eat Halal, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher)
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
- Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
3.Account Registration
To use most features, you must create an account by signing in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access
- Providing accurate and complete information
4.Subscription Terms
Eat Halal offers optional premium subscriptions with additional features.
Pricing:
- Monthly subscription: $4.99/month
- Yearly subscription: $39.99/year
- 7-day free trial available for new subscribers
Prices may vary by country and are subject to change. The final price you pay is shown in the App and charged in your local currency by Apple or Google.
Auto-Renewal Disclosure (Required):
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current subscription rate.
You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your account settings on the App Store or Google Play. No refunds are provided for the unused portion of a subscription term.
Free Trial:
New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged the subscription fee. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial period ends.
5.Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
- iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Eat Halal
- Android:Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions
After cancellation, you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google per their respective policies. We do not process refunds directly.
6.Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
- Scrape, bulk-download, or automate interactions with the Service
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Use the Service to harm, harass, or defraud others
- Bypass rate limits, subscription restrictions, or authentication
- Create multiple accounts to abuse free tier limits
7.Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and code — are owned by Eat Halal or our licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
8.User Content and Data
You retain ownership of any content you submit (scanned images, text, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process that content solely to provide the Service to you.
We do not claim ownership of your scan history, meal plans, or other personal data. You can export or delete your data at any time via the App settings.
9.Religious Disclaimer
Eat Halal is a tool, not a religious authority.
Our AI-powered analysis is based on ingredient identification and general halal guidelines. It may not account for every nuance of Islamic dietary law, regional scholarly differences, production methods, or cross-contamination issues.
We do not issue fatwas or religious rulings. For matters of significant religious importance, always consult:
- Trusted halal certification bodies in your country
- Qualified Islamic scholars
- Your local mosque or Islamic center
Eat Halalis not liable for any religious or spiritual consequences arising from reliance on the App's output.
10.Medical and Dietary Disclaimer
Eat Halal is not a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice. If you have allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions affecting your diet, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
The App's ingredient analysis focuses on halal status, not allergens or medical safety. Always read the product's original label for allergen information.
11.Accuracy and Limitation of Liability
While we strive for accuracy, the Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
- AI analysis will always be accurate or complete
- Results will meet your specific requirements
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eat Halal and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.
12.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eat Halal, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you submit to the Service
13.Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms
- Suspected fraudulent or abusive activity
- Request by law enforcement or governmental agencies
- Discontinuation of the Service
You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the App. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
14.Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email, in-app notification, or by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15.Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Morocco, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Morocco, except where applicable consumer protection laws grant you the right to bring claims in your country of residence.
